Concord is a historic town in Middlesex County, about 20 miles northwest of Boston. It lies along the Concord River and features rolling meadows, colonial architecture, and preserved battlefields linked by scenic roads and trails.

History

Founded in 1635, Concord was central to the American Revolution, where the Battle of Concord and “shot heard ’round the world” marked the start of independence. Later, it became home to literary giants such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, and Louisa May Alcott.
